Mitsumi Spins Up Faster CD-RW Drive
Introducing the CR-4809TE CD-RW Drive Mitsumi introduces
24x12x40 CD-RW drive for US market Irving, TX Mitsumi Electronics, the worlds largest manufacturer of computer peripherals, introduces the newest member of its CD-RW product line, the CR-4809TE CD-RW drive. The CR-4809TE is improved from its predecessor, the CR-4808TE, with faster write speed of 24x, rewrite speed of 12x and read speed of 32x. The CR-4809TE records up to 700 MB (80 minutes) of audio, video, digital photos, MP3s and CDs. The CR-4809TE features a 12X audio ripping speed for digital audio extraction of music CDs. Its 2 MB
buffer size limits buffer under-run errors during the CD recording process. Oak
Technologys ExacLink buffer under-run protection provides additional protection
against buffer under-runs. Supported recording methods are: Disc-at-Once (DAO),
Track-at-Once, Multi-session and Packet Writing. The
ATAPI/EIDE interface is compatible with Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4.0, XP and 2000. System requirements: PC or compatible system with
Pentium 300 MHz or higher and 64MB RAM. Mitsumi offers a bare OEM drive or retail kit. The retail kit includes the CR-4809TE, data cables, screws, Ahead Nero Burning ROM CD recording software, and a blank Kodak CD-R disc. Both will
be available through OEM and distribution in December 2001. The retail kit will be
available through the online store Mitsumi Direct (http://www.mitsumidirect.com). The suggested
