Mitsumi Announces New Member of CD-RW family - the Mitsumi CR-4804TE

Mitsumi Introduces New 4x4x24 CD-RW Drive to US Market.

IRVING, TX - September 6, 1999 - Mitsumi Electronics, the world’s largest manufacturer of computer peripherals, forges ahead with its CD-RW product family and new CD-RW drive - the CR-4804TE. The CR-4804TE features 4x write, 4x rewrite and 24x read speeds for recording CDs in 20 minutes.

Supported recording methods are: Disc-at-Once (DAO), Track-at-Once, Multi-session and Packet Writing. Users can record audio, video, digital photos, CDs and MP3s. Using the Disc-At-Once recording feature, users can record from their CD-ROM to the CD-RW drive. The 2 MB buffer reduces buffer under run errors during the CD recording process. The packet writing feature gives users additional 650 MB of storage capacity; users drag and drop files to store onto the CD until it is full to capacity.

The ATAPI/EIDE interface is compatible with Windows 95, 98, and NT 4.0 for plug and play installation.

System requirements: PC or compatible system with Pentium 133 or higher and 32 MB RAM.

Mitsumi offers a bare OEM drive or retail kit. The retail kit includes CeQuadrat WinOn CD 3.6 CD recording software, data cables, screws and a blank Kodak CD-R disc.
