MITSUMI ANNOUNCES "MINI USB" SERIES OF CONNECTOR COMPONENTS

IRVING, TX ­ March 22, 1999 - In response to growing demands for the convenience of the USB interface in new portable and hand-held data devices; Mitsumi Electronics Corporation announces the “Mini USB” series of connector components.

The “Mini USB” series provides complete conformance with USB performance standards while reducing overall dimensions by up to 50%. “Mini USB” series type A plug and jack assemblies are ideal for palm and sub-notebook PCs. In addition, PDAs and other data appliances, through type B connectors, can now gain even more functionality by incorporating USB capabilities for working with PCs and other USB peripherals.
