Standard/Wireless Scroll Mouse Provides Smooth Page Scrolling; Low Power Consumption Mouse Ideal for Laptop Computer Users

SANTA CLARA, CALIF. ­ June 29, 1998 ­ Mitsumi Electronics, the world¹s largest manufacturer of computer peripherals, today announced the immediate availability of three new affordable mouse peripherals. The Mitsumi Standard Scroll Mouse and Mitsumi Wireless Infrared Scroll Mouse provide fast scrolling with a single click, and are compatible with Microsoft¹s Intelligent Mouse. The Mitsumi Laptop Mouse is constructed for low-power consumption, making it ideal for mobile computer users.

Standard and Wireless Scroll Mouse

The new Mitsumi Scroll Mouse helps maximize end-user productivity with a smooth button-scrolling feature that includes panning mode for page movement. The scroll button on Mitsumi¹s mouse uses two tactile switches and one micro-switch (three patents pending) for better control than the standard wheel-type scroll. Users can also fast scroll with a single click.

The scroll mouse is available in a standard version, which includes a 1.8-meter cable, and a wireless version, which uses infrared technology to transmit and receive information at 9600 BPS baud rates. A long-lasting lithium battery provides up to one year of power assuming typical usage, while a dynamic holder/receiver connected to the PC provides convenient storage when the mouse is not in use.

Laptop Mouse

Constructed for low power consumption, the Mitsumi Laptop Mouse allows for greater efficiency when working with laptop computers. It incorporates stand-by and sleep modes for low current consumption.
