In one's
workspace environment it may be difficult to re-arrange the
furniture or move to a different workspace. There are Feng Shui fundamentals
that can be applied to a workspace to enhance positive chi for a more
harmonious workspace that is creative and productive.
Consult
the Ba-Gua for the areas you wish to enhance in your life. It is important
to focus on one or two sectors at a time; one can be overwhelmed when
attempting to access too many sectors. By focusing on one or two sectors,
one can be disciplined to accomplishing the goals of those sectors.
Use the desk for the center
place for mapping good Feng Shui. The desk is the center for where work
is started and completed. Place the Ba-Gua over the desk to determine
which sectors need enhacement. The most auspicious place for a desk
is in a position where one's office entrance is visible from the front.
If the entrance is to the back of the person, the person may be exposed
to negative elements that cannot be seen. To alleviate the problem is
to place a mirror on the desk for a rear view.
Be respectful of the workspace.
The workspace reflects your character and your energy. He says, "To
reduce stagnant chi, get rid of 'stuff' you no longer use." This means
removing old files, materials and other items from the desktop and desk
drawers. Keep only what is used as part of daily work routine on the
desktop. The computer should be on the desktop if it is the primary
tool for productivity. The same applies to pens and paper. If the primary
tool for productivity and creativity is the pen, keep it on the desktop
or keep it with you. Don't store extra pens or supplies in the desk
drawer, it stores away ideas that never get expressed.
