Mitsumi CD-R/RW Diagnostic Program

This software inspects the performance of your MITSUMI CD-R/RW drives.

This software only allows "MS_DOS Mode" (Does not work in MS_DOS Prompt). 

Please refer to the following information and check the cable connection before using
the diagnostic software.

1) Preparation

Prepare the following 3 types of CDs:

-Data CD-ROM (For example: Microsoft Windows 95/98 CD-ROM) for Read Performance testing. 
(Please do not use recorded CD-R or RW discs.)
-1 blank CD-R disc
-1 blank CD-RW disc (CR-4808TE and CR-4809TE test requires high speed CD-RW discs.)

2) Software Installation

After extracting the file, type cdrcheck.exe at your extracted directory.

3) Execution

Press [F1] key to start the program (Perform all items).


4) Test Items

1.Drive recognition

This software automatically recognizes the drive. (all MITSUMI CD-R/RW Drives). If you
can not see the Port, Model, or F/W information, please check the cable connection.

2.Tray eject test

Please follow the instructions on your screen.

-Does the tray open when you press the eject button?
YES: Press [Enter] 
NO: Press [Space] key

-Does the tray close when you push the tray?
YES: Press [Enter]
NO: Press [Space] key

-Do you have any other mechanism or LED related problems?

Other problems:
Tray closes or opens with a loud noise.
Tray closes automatically without pressing the eject button.
Loading speed is very slow
Disc makes a scratching noise.
LED lamp is blinking.

YES: Press [Space] key
NO: Press [Enter]

3.Reading Performance test (search time and transfer rate)
Insert the Data CD-ROM and press [Enter]. 
Please make sure the Data CD does not have any scratches or fingerprints.

4.Writing Performance test for CD-R disc
Insert a blank CD-R disc and press [Enter]. 
(This disc can be used again for the same test but not for any other purpose.) 
Please make sure the CD-R disc does not have any scratches or fingerprints.

5.Writing Performance test for CD-RW disc. 
(CR-4808TE and CR-4849TE test requires high speed CD-RW disc.)
Insert the blank CD-RW disc and press [Enter].
Please make sure the CD-RW disc does not have any scratches or fingerprints.

6.How to stop the Diagnostic test
Press [ESC] and [Enter] any time during the test. This aborts the test.

7.Log File
This program automatically creates a log file that includes the test results. Should you
have any problems, please contact Technical Support with this log file.

AB2 Memory Allocation Error Failed to allocate enough memory area
AB3 PC Not Support DMA Tried to perform DMA test with a PC that did not support DMA or had special chipset.
AB4 EMM386 Installed Tried to perform DMA test with a PC that EMM386.EXE was installed
AB5 Operation Aborted Oparation was aborted by the operator
RW83 Set CD Speed Error Set CD Speed command error
RW84 Manual Eject Error Any problem was found for manual tray eject test(Not open, Noisy and so on) 
RW85 Reserved  
RW86 Tray push close Error Any problem was found for tray push close test(Not close, Noisy and so on) 
AB6 Not Supported Drive Not-supported drives are only connected to PC
RW** means that any error occurred
AB** means that the test has been aborted
